Silas Bartsch offers a total of ten parent education and engagement activities annually. In the fall, we begin with our Back to School Night, where parents have an opportunity to meet their child's teachers and become acquainted with the mission for the year. Parent/Teacher conferences are conducted twice annually providing parents with an update on how their child is doing in school.
Three Parent Education topics are determined annually through the use of survey data. Over the years, we have responded to parents' interest in teen drug abuse, social media safety, teen tobacco use, etc. Look for our 2021-22 topics to be released in August.
Silas Bartsch also hosts three academic nights in which we engage parents in various activities in core content areas. Look for Math Night, Science Night, and a night with VAPA in 2021-22.
Our absolute favorite events have been on hold due to COVID restrictions. We are looking forward to the return of our Doughnuts with Dad in the fall, Muffins with Mom in the Spring, and our community carnival, the Spring Fling.
