Band
Director: Mr. Awbrey

Band offers students the opportunity to develop their musical skills starting in 6th grade, progressing through Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced levels. Throughout the year, band members showcase their talents in performances and competitions, building teamwork and a love for music. Successful completion allows students to continue at the various band programs at Reedley High School.

Battle of the Books
Adviser: Mrs. Klassen

Battle of the Books is a district reading competition where students demonstrate their knowledge of books they’ve read through fun, team-based challenges. Teams face off in events similar to a quiz show, testing their recall and comprehension of assigned book lists. It's an exciting and educational way for students to engage with literature and showcase their reading abilities while competing for recognition.

Chess Club
Adviser: Mrs. Reagan

The Chess Club is a strategic and competitive space where players of all skill levels can sharpen their game through practice, friendly matches, and tournaments. Throughout the year, members compete in club tournaments, leading up to the highly anticipated district tournament each spring.

Choir
Director: Mr. Peña

The Choir program brings students together to develop their vocal skills and perform a diverse repertoire of music. Through concerts and competitions, choir members showcase their harmony, teamwork, and passion for singing throughout the year. Successful participation in eighth grade fulfills the prerequisite to audition for the Madrigals at Reedley High School.

Coin Club
Adviser: Mrs. Reagan

Coin Club is a fun and engaging place for coin enthusiasts to share their collections, learn about numismatics, and participate in exciting activities like Show & Tell, completing mint set holders for prizes, and joining the ANA as young numismatists.

Electives (Junior High)
Our Electives program offers students a chance to explore their interests and develop new skills in a variety of engaging subjects. From creative courses like Art and Floral Design to hands-on experiences in Herbology, Video Production, and Robotics, there’s something for everyone to discover and enjoy.

Engine-Uity Model Railroad Club (Pre-CTE Pathway 152 Option)
Adviser: Mr. Mendoza

The Engine-Uity Model Railroad Club is a creative and educational space where students design and build railroad track models while exploring transportation sciences. Members can participate in the Fresno State Transportation Institute’s Railroad Model Competition, collaborating in teams to create fuel-efficient, cost-effective rail systems with mentorship from experienced railroad modelers and transportation professionals. Successful participation can prepare students for the Industrial Technology and Design pathway at the high school level.

"Poetry and Prose" and "Oral Interpretation"
Advisers: Mrs. Klassen and Mrs. Frias

Poetry and Prose and Oral Interpretation are cherished events where students share works of written literature such as poems, either solo or in groups. They receive feedback from judges and a personalized certificate recognizing their performance. It’s a fantastic opportunity for students to express themselves, gain confidence, and celebrate literature while building their public speaking skills.

Teachers' Assistants (Pre-CTE Pathway 130 Option)
Adviser: Mr. Awbrey

The Teacher’s Assistant (TA) program gives students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting teachers and staff in the classroom or office. TAs develop responsibility and organizational skills while assisting with tasks like classroom setup and helping younger students. Successful completion can lead to the Career and Technical Education, Child Development, and Family Services pathway at the high school level.

Theater Department

The Theater Department is a vibrant and creative community where students bring stories to life through acting, singing, dance, and stage production. With past performances like The Wizard of Oz and Grease, the department showcases talent and teamwork in exciting productions that captivate audiences. Successful participation prepares students to continue at the high school level.
