Principal's Message

Welcome to Silas Bartsch School, the home of the Bengals. Thank you for visiting our website to learn more about our outstanding students and dedicated staff as well as our nationally-recognized school program.

Our mission is for all students to learn at high levels. Our vision is that: (1) All students will make progress toward proficiency or higher on essential standards, and (2) All students will make progress toward reading at or above grade level. Our teachers and staff collaborate with the goal of maximizing learning for all students.

We have been recognized this year as a 2025 California and National "School to Watch" for excellence in the middle grades. We have also been recognized by the Educational Results Partnership as an "Honor Roll School," and by U.S. News and World Report as a 2025 "Best Elementary School."

Bengal pride shines through at our school, as our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) system has been recognized for its success. Students know that being a Silas Bartsch Bengal means we R.O.A.R. by showing that we are:

- Respectful
- Organized
- Ambitious
- Responsible

Throughout the year, students have many opportunities to receive recognition for meeting our school’s PBIS behavior expectations. We are always looking for opportunities to recognize students for demonstrating that they know how to R.O.A.R.

I invite our parents and families to be involved at Silas Bartsch School. Parent Teacher Club, School Site Council, English Language Advisory Committee, Parent Academies, and other family engagement events are just a few ways that you can participate in committees and events at our school.

We also offer many co-curricular opportunities for our students including sports, clubs, a theater department, and various opportunities to participate. For our Junior High students, we offer three levels of band, a choir class, and electives. Please visit our "Activities" page to learn more.

I am privileged to partner with our school community on behalf of our future leaders as we prepare them for college, career, and beyond. Please don’t hesitate to contact me at (559) 305-7360.

Respectfully,
Reggie Wagner
