Silas Bartsch School opened in October of 2009.  The school is named after Mr. Silas Bartsch, the first Superintendent of the Kings Canyon Joint Unified School District.  The school serves nearly 670 students in grades K-8 and includes a staff of 31 classroom teachers and 22 support staff. 

Mission Statement 

Silas Bartsch School, in collaboration with our educational partners, is committed to producing academically proficient students and positively engaged citizens through a rigorous course of instruction and a  comprehensive system of support within a safe learning environment.    
 
Our vision for our students is that we have academically and socially prepared them to be successfully independent.   

We are striving to be the best on the planet and we pride ourselves in making it happen.
